Author Tip: Keep a Bio Handy for Media Opportunities

For years I have kept a bio sheet handy on my desktop so I can easily copy and paste my bio into online profiles, responses to media inquiries, articles I’ve written, and other places where a bio is necessary. It includes several versions of my bio—short, medium, and long—to fit various requirements. Having this simple Word document handy ensures that my bio is consistent and prevents me from having to re-type it over and over. Not a week goes by that I don’t use this file for something!

By the way, this information should also be added to a page on your website, making it easy for media pros or people who book you for speaking engagements to access your information.
