Teleseminar: Sarah Burleton on How She Landed on the NY Times List

Event Date: March 11, 2015 | Time: 11AM PST / 2PM EST

Sarah BurletonNOTE: This event was rescheduled from our planned interview in February. It will be held at a special time–11am PST–following an interview at 10am PST with Fran Silverman.

Sarah Burleton joins us to discuss how her book, Why Me,  ended up on the New York Times bestsellers list!

About Sarah Burleton

Sarah Burleton is a bright, intense woman on a mission. Determined to empower those who live in fear, she speaks out for children who are trapped in the family secret of abuse as well as adults that grew up in that environment.

Sarah’s first book, Why Me, is an eye-opening account into the hidden world of child abuse.  Sarah wrote Why Me for cathartic purposes, never dreaming that her story would reach so many readers and touch so many lives.  Why Me spent an astounding 26 weeks on the New York Times Bestseller E-book Non Fiction list, 2 weeks on the USA Today Bestseller list, and debuted at number 9 on the Wall Street Journal bestseller list.  Sarah did no promotion or marketing of her story, yet made history as the first self-published non-fiction e-book author to ever make the New York Times bestseller list.  Her story has been compared to that of Dave Pelzer, author of A Child Called It, and Sarah’s book now carries the endorsement of Dave Pelzer, which she considers a higher honor than making the New York Times

Today, Sarah concentrates on her role as the spokesperson for Prevent Child Abuse Illinois, volunteering at the Macon County Child Advocacy Center and her son’s school, rollerblading, and writing her next book.
