What is your book about?
The decade-long pursuit of justice for the separate (within thirty days) execution-style murder and kidnapping of the parents of my co-author and client, Ashley Elliott.
What inspired you to write your book?
In addition to original works of my own, I ghostwrite non-fiction and fiction, and the client (Ashley Elliott) asked me to help her write her story.
If you have a business related to your book, tell us about it:
I don’t, other than I am a trial attorney in addition to a writer and the two professional skillsets converged nicely for this project.
What is a typical day like for you?
I write first thing in the morning, often starting as early as 5 am, exercise in the late morning to early afternoon, and return to writing (and editing) for the balance of the day (or I run out of creative steam).
What do you most enjoy about what you do?
Storytelling to impact readers.
What are some favorite books you’d recommend to our readers?
Let’s Pretend This Never Happened; Wilmington’s Lie; The Fact of a Body.
What advice do you have to offer our readers?
Read what provokes and changes you.
What would people be surprised to learn about you?
Black Belt in Karate; Attended Woodstock in 1969.
What’s next for you?
Working on second novel and transforming a non-fiction manuscript into a work of fiction for two client authors.
