What is your book about?

The book is based on a tool that helps people solve their most difficult problems. The premise is that to find better solutions, we need to ask better questions. The book contains 25 lenses that help you reframe your problems so that you can reveal previously hidden solutions.

What inspired you to write your book?

For over a decade I have been using these lenses to help companies and individuals solve their complex problems. Given how powerful the tool is, I decided it would be helpful for others to apply the techniques. As it turns out, during the pandemic, the content is even more valuable. We have more complex problems than ever. So it is my goal to make sure as many people as possible have access to this book and the tools.

If you have a business related to your book, tell us about it:

My business is focused on helping companies solve their most complex problems – and teaching them how to do it on their own. I deliver my content via speeches, advisory services, workshops, software, and tools.

What is a typical day like for you?

There is no typical day! Sometimes I am giving a presentation (currently virtually). Sometimes I am shooting and editing video. And other days I am focused on creating new content.

What do you most enjoy about what you do?

I love the flexibility of my lifestyle. And I really enjoy helping others solve their complex problem. It is so much fun to see the lightbulb go off when someone discovers something new.

What are some favorite books you’d recommend to our readers?

My favorite is Surely You’re Joking, Mr. Feynman!

What advice do you have to offer our readers?

Sometimes the fastest way to solve a problem is to avoid focusing on the problem, but to focus on the question. Take the time to ask better questions (reframing problems) and you will always find better solutions.

What would people be surprised to learn about you?

I am a wannabe magician. I love that magicians are all about making the impossible possible. That’s what innovators are often trying to do.

What’s next for you?

I am going deeper into my content. Many people are pivoting right now. I am divoting (a golf term for when you go too deep when hitting the ball and you take a chunk out of the grass). The lenses have so many different ways to be used – software, chatbots, video, licensing deals, and more. Everything I am focused on now are the lenses.
