Synopsis
Paul Drugan grew up in a world where silence was survival and pain was hidden behind closed doors. Always feeling awkward and out of place, his feelings of childhood isolation are punctuated by his father’s verbally and physically abusive relationship, which lasted until his father’s death. It was only after that Paul came out as gay and pursued a more freeing life, but the damage of his father’s abuse weaves its way through cocaine and prescription drugs. After a health scare lands him in the emergency room, Paul accepts he needs to move forward from his past and begins to work on healing himself. Through radical forgiveness to his father for his abuse and to his family for letting this happen to him, Paul Drugan finds the tools he needs to transform his path from self-destruction to self-acceptance.
