Synopsis
After 50 years gone, the author and his deaf adult son travel back to his home town to take care of his 105 year old grandfather. In his grandfather’s last year they discuss and reveal each others lives. Together they explore and compare his grandfather’s extremely religious path through life with that of the his own extensive and somewhat unbelievable secular life experiences. Through four family members lives, the discussion weaves through all the comforts, opportunities, inconsistencies, horrors and happiness provided in America for us all to reconcile with each other.
