Editor Bios
Karen Berman, Ph.D. is Dean Emerita, College of Fellows of the American Theatre; Past President of the Association for Theatre in Higher Education; Past Chair of Theatre and Dance at Georgia College; and winner of both Georgia Governor’s Award for the Arts and Hillel Heroes Award. Karen is Co-Artistic Director of Washington Women in Theatre and recently published a 2-volume work she co-edited titled Stories of the Holocaust: Art for Healing and Renewal. She has directed over 150 theatre productions from the Smithsonian to Off-Broadway.
Gail Humphries, Ph.D. is Dean Emerita, College of Fellows of the American Theatre; Likhachev / Yeltsin Cultural Fellow, St. Petersburg, Russia; Fulbright Senior Scholar, Prague, CZ; Dean Emerita, Stephens College; and Professor Emerita, American University. She has directed over 180 productions, including drama, musical theatre, children’s theatre, the classics, and new works. She is co-editor and contributing author to the book titled Arts Integration in Education: Theory, Research and Practice (Intellect Books Ltd. 2016; 2018).
