Author Bio

Vicki Garlock, founder of Faith Seeker Kids, offers curricula, books, crafts, activities, and other resources to families and educators interested in children’s religious literacy. She attended a Lutheran grade school and a Catholic high school before earning her Sc.B. in Psychology from Brown University. After earning her Ph.D. from the Univ. of AL – Birmingham, with dual specialties in neuroscience and cognitive development, she served as a full-time Psychology professor for over a decade. While there, she taught courses related to biopsychology, child development, learning, and cognition.

In 2008, she accepted the position of Nurture Coordinator and Curriculum Specialist at Jubilee! Community Church in Asheville, a progressive-type church with an emphasis on multi-faith approaches. She was ordained as their Minister of Education and recently published the Peace Unit of her Interfaith Made Easy™ curriculum for kids age 3 through 8th grade. She is particularly interested in the rich narrative traditions found throughout the world’s religions and is currently working on Embracing Peace, an anthology of peace-related children’s stories from around the world.
