The Pivotal Years: Israel and the Arab WOrld 1966-1977
This book covers an eleven year journey that begins with Israel in the midst of a confrontation with an Arab world bent on her destruction and ends with a fragile peace that offered hope for compromise rather than conflict. During that time, there four wars in the region (the Six-Day War, the War of Attrition, Jordan’s war with the PLO, and the Yom Kippur War), the PLO became a regional force, and Israel’s settler movement formed. Those topics and much more are covered in 100 chapters that are augmented by two maps and an extensive glossary.
