Author bio
Jan Sikes is a new author, although not new to writing. She has written songs, poetry, screenplays and short stories. Growing up in a small dusty town on the Texas-New Mexico border, she and her sister found adventures untold through avidly reading books (many times late into the night, under the covers, with a flashlight). Little did she know, all of that reading was early training for becoming an author.
Her years of being married to Rick Sikes proved to be the launching pad for her writing career. After his death in 2009, she got serious about it and the result is the first book of a series, “Flowers and Stone”.
Soon to be released is her second book of the series, “The Convict And The Rose”!
She resides in North Texas and when she isn’t writing, you will find her volunteering at the various music festivals across Texas or playing with her three grandchildren.
