Author bio
Born and raised in Sacramento, California, June Gillam is an award-winning poet and author of seven books including poetry, fiction, and how-to. She belongs to many writers groups, is a founder of the San Joaquin Valley branch of the CWC and recipient of a 2017 Jack London Award.

Her love of life-long learning led her through Associate, Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral degrees alongside raising five children with the cooperation of three serial husbands, the third marriage lasting 30 splendid years before his death. Her Masters degree focused on Creative Writing, Poetry, and her dissertation to complete a Transformative Learning and Change doctorate from California Institute of Integral Studies was a Cooperative Inquiry into Women Writing Stories Containing Conflict.

Now retired from full-time on-campus teaching (but clinging to teaching one online Intro to Lit course), she has moved to Fairfield, sharing a lovely house with her two daughters, due to one of them having been called as priest-in-charge for Fairfield’s Grace Episcopal Church, upon her return after 26 years living in the UK with her British husband. June appreciates various pathways to human growth and change and has begun to write a memoir, working title: Another White Woman Wakes Up.
