Author bio
Maarten van Lier grew up in a middle class family in a small town in the Netherlands. He came to the United States at the age of 26 with nothing more than a suitcase and a good education. As a software architect he's worked and lived across the United States from Marin County California, down to Montgomery Alabama, Atlanta Georgia and has finally settled down near Milwaukee Wisconsin.

Besides his passion for software and hard work with many of the fortune 500 companies, Maarten also kept an eye on his finances. He managed to build himself a portfolio exceeding a million dollars, allowing him to take a break from his software career and write about his path to becoming a millionaire.
