Author bio
As a teacher and psychotherapist, Thad Harshbarger works to help people define and resolve their own problems in their own ways. Licensed as a psychologist in New York and Massachusetts, he has been working in private practice for more than 45 years. During that time, he has helped many patients find relief from chronic fatigue, difficulty sleeping, and a wide range of other physical and psychological symptoms.

Dr. Harshbarger recognizes that we all have different needs and circumstances to manage. In Your Sleep Map, he helps you understand why you can’t sleep, so you can select a treatment that works for you, and get relief as quickly and efficiently as possible.

His training includes a BA and MA in philosophy, MS and PhD in psychology, and a postgraduate certificate in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. For ten years he was professor of psychology at The City College and of educational psychology at NYU. He has also served on the faculties of two postgraduate psychotherapy institutes and taught at an art center (stained glass) and a karate studio (Kenpo).
