Author bio
I work with authors who integrate research into creative and/or commercial nonfiction, with a special interest in feminist topics. I know from experience that writing this kind of book, though fun, is challenging. How do the different pieces of your project fit together? How do you structure an unconventional narrative? It is easy to get lost in the weeds without someone to hold onto your vision, ask the right questions, and bounce ideas off of. Whether you’re a creative writer who has no idea how to approach primary sources or an academic who wants to think outside the conventions of scholarly writing and publishing, I will help you find and build on the spine of your story—the main support structure that you will use to organize your research, memories, and other kinds of writing into a sparkling, cohesive manuscript.

Before becoming a book coach, I received my PhD from the Department of History at the University of Maryland, College Park, and since 2015 have served as editor-in-chief of a scholarly journal. I now write about feminism, culture, and social movements for all audiences. I am the author of two books: THE WOMEN'S RIGHTS MOVEMENT SINCE 1945 (Bloomsbury, 2022) and CROSSHATCH: RECOVERING A FORGOTTEN FEMINIST'S VOICE AND FINDING MY OWN (Blackwater Press, forthcoming).
