Marja is a bilingual writer and the author of a book series on the Ten Commandments in the twenty-first century. A book series that takes the reader on a treasure hunt throughout both the Old and New Testaments, looking for a healthy balance in Christian beliefs. Legalism is not the answer, hyper-grace isn't either. The healthy balance she presents in her books will lead to unity among believers, despite diversity in interpretations. The Ten Commandments turn out to be Ten Core Values for believers today!
Marja was born and raised in Holland, where she now lives with her husband Jan. A life of traveling & adventure took them all over the world. They visited countries like Nepal, India, and Malaysia in the Far East, but also Bolivia, Peru, and Chile in South America. Although their love for traveling has not subsided, their spiritual journey took on a whole new meaning when they experienced the love and grace of their Creator.
Marja is a freelance writer and motivator, and passionate about sharing fresh insights on ancient truths in her books, blogs, and articles, and when she speaks in churches, at conferences, and events. Together with her husband, she is the founder of Traveling Light, a non-profit organization that seeks to provide practical help, financial support, and spiritual encouragement to Christian initiatives all over Europe and the Middle East. Projects include drug- and alcohol rehabilitation centers, safe houses for women caught in prostitution and trafficking, shelters for the homeless, orphanages for children, and much more.
