Engineered for the Worst day - First book draft
Book Description
Engineered for the Worst Day offers a practical, evidence-based framework for designing resilient medical and occupational health systems in remote and high-risk operations. It originates from the real challenges of developing a coherent master list of medical supplies and equipment, where disparate stakeholder views produced misunderstanding, delayed decisions, and left residual risk unaddressed while the system remained incomplete.
The book demonstrates that no single element—governance and executive risk ownership, prevention, medical team capability, supplies and logistics, escalation and evacuation pathways, mental health support, or assurance—stands alone. These form interdependent layers that must be engineered together from inception. Executives, site medical personnel, HSE, procurement, and occupational health providers are guided to overcome known barriers to collaboration and align around one singular goal: preserve life and buy every critical minute until definitive care, both physically and mentally.
Deliberately non-prescriptive on clinical protocols, the work provides sufficient scope for all factors to be considered and integrated. It draws on industry lessons—including clinical governance failures, regulatory actions against under-performing providers, employer non-delegable due diligence, the value of quality early-management referrals, and measurable returns through reduced absence—to help organisations move beyond compliance-driven approaches toward streamlined, effective, and cost-effective systems that hold on the worst day while strengthening everyday occupational health outcomes.
It is written for both board-level decision-makers and the people who must make the system work on site. It is still in draft version.

I am new to this – as an introvert, I scrapped together all my social-courage to do this. I am looking to learn – to learn so that I can teach in return. I have lived a lot of experiences where I feel others can benefit / be spared from if I share it. I am looking for a mentor
