Tom Leech
On the Road in ’68: A year of turmoil, a journey of friendship
Tom describes his 6-months travel adventure to 27 countries during what is regarded as the most tumultous year of the last half-century. Four decades later he looks back at the places he visited, such as Vietnam, Cambodia, Egypt, Spain, Paris, Belfast, and the friends he was able to make as a low-budget traveler. Many of those friends tell their own stories about what they were up to, some fellow wanderers and others warm hosts.
“Outdoors San Diego: Hiking, Biking & Camping” tells about ways to get out there and enjoy San Diego’s special world of parks, preserves and trails. Where else can you enjoy in one county walks along the beach, around its many fine city parks, up to 6,000 foot mountains and out to desert oases… and do it in January as well as July? Per Ellen Shively, past Chair San Diego Sierra Club: “The only reference book you’ll need for planning an excursion anywhere in the county.”
