One of the biggest mistakes authors make with a book launch is trying to do it solo. You wanna be generating word of mouth buzz. You want early book reviews, and the way to do that is building a launch team by inviting beta readers to read your manuscript early. So, here’s how we do it, three steps. Step one, create a registration form where people can apply to be beta readers for your book.
It’s a simple form, like a Google Form works just fine. Step two, post your call for beta readers in groups where your target readers spend time. I’m talking about Facebook groups, LinkedIn groups, Reddit. Invite people to apply to get early access to your manuscript. And then step three, put it out to everyone you know, email, social media.
Invite people to become beta readers. Now, you’re gonna give early access to your manuscript, and remember this, you are not losing sales by doing this. You are gaining word of mouth marketing. Think about when a friend recommends a restaurant that they enjoyed or a book that they loved, then you wanna go and check those out as well.
It’s the same thing when you have beta readers out there talking about your book. So, invite them to participate, give them early access, and then help empower them to be your launch team.
Good luck.
