How to Bring Your Book’s Benefits to Life Youtube Video
When I was a kid, my dad had a garbled way of explaining how he wanted me to do chores around the house. Usually, I’d have to ask him if he could be clearer with his instructions.
His typical reply to me was…
“What! Do I need to paint a picture for you?!”
I must have heard him say that a thousand times when I was growing up. But he did get a chuckle one year when I bought him a paint set for Christmas.
This “paint a picture” background in my childhood may be why I encourage authors to bring the benefits of their book to life by “painting solution pictures” in their marketing copy.
Here’s what I mean…
If you’ve written a book for entrepreneurs, don’t just tell them how your business principles will enhance their revenue. Take it a step further and paint a picture that describes how their lives will look when they’ve made more money.
If you’ve written a CIA thriller, don’t just write a summary of your plot in your book description. Instead, paint a picture with words that details how readers will feel when they’re immersed in your action scenes.
Bringing your benefits to life in this manner will engage more readers… and help you sell more books.

Until next time, take a lot of action… and make things happen.
