Dear Writers,
I’m Stephanie Chandler, CEO of the Nonfiction Authors Association. I launched the first Nonfiction Writers Conference in 2010 because I was frustrated. After speaking at dozens of writers’ conferences and events each year, it was clear the majority focused on fiction. Nonfiction writers seemed to be an afterthought, and this continues to be a challenge today. If you’ve ever attended a local writers’ group meeting or conference, you’ve likely felt neglected there.
Each year following our conference, attendees asked: “How do we stay in touch?” That question led to the birth of the Nonfiction Authors Association in 2013. We’ve been serving nonfiction authors ever since.
I’ve been traditionally published and self-published. I’ve owned a bookstore. I’ve spoken at hundreds of writing events. I’ve done the hard work, made the mistakes, and found what actually works. Most importantly, I built this community to give you the shortcuts I wish I’d had.
