What is your book about?
A true story about one family’s struggle within the justice system, and their fight to uncover the truth in the midst of life-changing lies that leave them in an unbearable situation that only faith can see them through.
What inspired you to write your book?
I was inspired to write my book by being in a position to be on the other side of the criminal justice system and watching how my husband could have been sent to prison if he had taken the plea bargain offered him. I want to share that if you did not commit a crime, do not take a plea bargain; instead, fight for your freedom in the criminal justice system.
Can you describe your writing process?
I kept notes, finally put all the notes together, and I started writing. I worked better late at night.
How did you come to do what you’re doing today?
It was something I decided to do realizing that my story could help someone.
Can you describe a typical day in your life?
I drop my son off at school, go to my office for a full day, leave, drive in traffic, get home, make dinner, put down some thoughts on paper. This is my typical day!
What do you most enjoy about what you do?
I enjoy watching people being happy after reading my book. I love inspiring people to never give up on life, or their situation. Letting them know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Are there any people and/or books that have inspired you along your journey?
Nik Greene’s book False Accusations: Guilty Until Proven Innocent.
Can you share something that people may be surprised to learn about you?
They would be surprised to know that my hobbies are astronomy, photography, and that I’m a collector of lighthouses.
What’s next for you?
Traveling the world speaking and motivating people that life is good, in spite of what you go through. Maybe writing another book! Who knows?
