What is your book about?

The Awakened Psychic is a comprehensive guide to understanding your natural intuitive wisdom and then going deeper into awakening your psychic ability.

In this book, I show you how to identify what types of psychic ability you might have and explain the difference between a gut feeling, a hunch, intuition, and true psychic ability. Once you have identified which type or types you are, I show you how to strengthen and work with these abilities.

As Your Travel Guide to the Other Side, I explain the difference between being a Psychic and being a Medium and what the contrast is between a ghost and a spirit. Next I teach you how to build a protective energy field around your aura so that you can safely travel to the other side when seeking information about the future.

Most importantly, I share practical reasons and helpful techniques to access psychic ability in order to help you in your daily life with your relationships and your career.

The Awakened PsychicWhat inspired you to write your book?

The Awakened Psychic is my fifth book and is the second book of an Awakened Series that I’m writing. As a psychic and intuitive coach, I enjoy helping people to understand what is happening in their world so they can solve their problems and live a better life.

My reason for writing The Awakened Psychic is that I want to take the “woo-woo,” in essence, the mystery and weirdness, out of being psychic. I truly believe everyone has psychic ability and that it’s a natural gift given to us all.  In this book, I show you how you can discover and tap into your psychic ability and use it in very practical ways in your daily life, including strengthening your relationships, protecting your children, and enhancing your career.

Can you describe your writing process?

When I write, I retreat from everything else in the world, whether it’s for a few hours or most of the day, so I tend to write in the late nights into the early mornings, when there are few interruptions.

I have a specific room in my home where I like to write. I’ve filled this room with inspirational art and décor that awaken my senses and put me into a warm, comfortable, and creative mood.  When I cross the threshold and step into this room, it immediately sets the tone that I’m in writing mode and that this is what I came into this room to do.

Sitting down at my computer, I listen to a song in order to clear my thoughts from the day.  Once the song has played, the room becomes quiet and still. I take three deep breaths in and out, releasing any old energy from my mind and body.  I allow myself to be there in the moment, in the stillness, as I create sacred space in the room and set the intention for my writing that evening.

Next, I focus my thoughts on the topic that I am writing on and the words begin to flow. I don’t stop them; I don’t edit them; I don’t correct them. I let what’s inside me flow out until it’s all done and I feel like I have nothing left to say for that day. Later on in the day after a break, I go back and read what I wrote and do my editing of that chapter then.

How did you come to do what you’re doing today?

It’s been part of me since childhood. I was born seeing auras around people, having prophetic dreams, and seeing spirits and ghosts. I remembered past lives where I taught about metaphysical concepts in the temples of ancient Greece and Egypt. Around the age of nine, my parents would find me in the local library explaining to the adults reading there that the mythological stories in these books were wrong and had been changed over time. One of my favorites to explain was the story of Medusa. I loved to teach that her story had been altered to make her look bad and take away her power, when in truth the snakes in her hair represented her wisdom in the divine feminine role.

By age ten, I was trying to edit the mythological and haunted history books in the library. My parents would get a phone call from the librarian, saying your daughter has written in another book again; you’ll have to buy this one, too. This gave me the beginnings of a great library in my childhood.

Can you describe a typical day in your life?

I’m an author, a wisdom teacher, an intuitive coach, and a talk show host.  A typical day begins as overflow from the night before where I’ve been writing. I may finish writing at 3 a.m. and then go to sleep for about six hours, waking around 9 a.m.

At that time in the morning I’m answering emails from my editor and publisher and from students and clients who are studying with me. Around mid-morning I read the chapter I was working on the night before and make edits and notes for the next night to work on.

After lunch I spend about an hour on social media sharing my work, and then I usually have a client or student booked for an afternoon session, whether it’s helping them tune into their intuition to grow their business or for private study with one of my courses that they are taking online at my Academy of Mystical Arts and Spiritual Sciences.

In the evenings, it varies from me teaching a new course to students live via online webinar or working with another client in a private session. Later that night, I write articles for magazines, posts for my blog, update my website, book new guests for my talk show that I record on the weekends, and take a break and relax for a while before I begin writing again at late night.

What do you most enjoy about what you do?

Being able to connect with people and empower them with helpful information so that they can explore their spiritual side and see how it’s all connected and how we’re all connected.

Basically, what I teach is this: When we figure out who we are and why we are here in this lifetime, it gives us joy, focus, purpose, and passion in all that we do.  My work is to help each person answer these two questions: Who Am I and Why Am I Here? Once we understand ourselves at this level, anything is possible.

Are there any people and/or books that have inspired you along your journey?

Too many to list! I find something inspirational about every single person I meet. Each person is so unique and is sharing something important and wonderful with this world and most people aren’t even aware when they’re doing it.

I’ve been given a wonderful gift, for I see the greatest potential and possibility within each human being. If I can do something to help them see the incredible beauty and wisdom that shines from within them, then I am happy!

It’s hard to list books that I love, because I’ve had so many wonderful authors on my show and all of their books are great. Two books that I love, though, that I refer clients to over and over again are Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman and The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz.

A writer that I completely adore is Anne Rice. The way she so beautifully describes and defines the scenes and characters in her books makes me feel like I am literally standing there in the scene. That’s a rare gift and art and she does it magnificently.

Can you share something that people may be surprised to learn about you?

That as a psychic, I don’t spend my day reading other people’s thoughts all day. Many people get nervous around me and will put their hands up by their head, saying oh no, she’s reading what I’m thinking right now. I’m not doing that; psychics have a code of ethics and we don’t pry into other people’s thoughts. I’m just a person going about my day and when hanging out with friends, I’m looking to relax and have fun. Just like a doctor, I have office hours where I set appointments to do my work.

What’s next for you?

The Awakened Psychic book hits stores on November 8th and I’m already working on the third book in this series, which will come out next year. The first book in this series is The Awakened Aura.

I’ll continue to teach new courses in my online school, The Academy of Mystical Arts and Spiritual Sciences and coach more entrepreneurs on how to use their intuition to develop their business and career, including learning how to see future trends in their line of work so they can plan ahead with a five-year vision plan.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I love working with authors and created a video download course that shows them How to Build Your Brand, Create Your Platform and Establish Your Expert Status.

I write non-fiction and understand how half of the work of being a writer is getting the word out there to let people know who you are and what you write about.

I love helping authors create their brand so they can get the word out about the great books they are writing!  More info about that here:
