About Tom Doherty
Tom Doherty has been president of Cardinal Publishers Group since 2000, a full service national book distributor. As President Tom’s day to day activities focus primarily on working with our sales and marketing associates, customer service department, client publishers, editorial production, the management team in operations and finance. Prior to Cardinal Publishers Group Tom worked in publishing for nearly 20 years including nine years in book distribution with Time-Warner and then The Hearst Corporation. At which time he worked as a district sales manager, sales analyst, special sales manager, client liaison, and national accounts manager and national marketing manager. During the remainder of his career Tom spent several years working for independent publishing houses including Tor Books (now a division of MacMillan), Howard W. Sams, and Sports Publishing. His primary responsibilities while at independent publishers were primarily involved in sales, editing, and publicity. During his time at Cardinal Publishers Group Tom has overseen the launched more than one hundred new imprints.
