Last week we asked our community on Facebook to answer this question: What is your favorite charitable cause?
Here’s what they had to say:
Jen Doeden Weer: The Drawer’s mission is to provide warmth and dignity to the homeless and underprivileged through new socks and underwear. Both are among the most needed and the least donated items…….Jen Weers is a back-of-the-book indexer. You can learn more about The Drawer at thedrawer.org, and me at jenweers.com.
Stephanie Chandler: My heart is with animals, mental health and cancer research. But I support a LOT of causes because there are just so many important needs: children, domestic violence, homelessness, literacy… Lots of good can be done in this world with a little time or a small donation.
Linda Lysakowski: Most of my charitable dollars go to my church and National Parks Foundation, recently I’ve given to support groups like ACLU and Southern Poverty Law Center and more to political causes. I am an expert in nonprofit issues, most of my nonfiction work is in the nonprofit sector.
